Controls Technician

As a Controls Technician, you will design, program, develop and troubleshoot Automation Systems designed for various industrial environments. We are interested in both Junior and Senior experience levels.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Program PLC’s and HMI’s (Omron, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, others)

  • Program Robots (Fanuc, ABB, Kuka, Yaskawa, Omron, others)

  • Program Vision Systems (Keyence, Cognex, Omron, others)

  • Program SCADA Systems (various vendors)

  • Program Safety Systems for various equipment

  • Troubleshoot complex automation equipment

  • Coordinate with other departments and suppliers to streamline delivery

  • Develop efficient means and standards to ensure project schedules are met

  • Validate system safeties function as designed.

Junior Controls Technician Key Professional Attributes:

  • College or University completion or enrollment in an industry-related program

  • Basic knowledge of PLC systems

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of robot capabilities, including collaborative and conventional industrial robots.

  • Must possess adequate computer skills and organizational habits

Senior Controls Technician Key Professional Attributes:

  • Minimum 5 years of direct working experience

  • Working knowledge of safety PLC systems and safety standards

  • Working knowledge of communication networks (Ethernet IP, EtherCAT, I/O Link, Profibus)

  • Experience with robot integration and understanding of robot programming, including collaborative and conventional industrial robots.

  • Machine wiring and panel building experience

  • Experience with basic system and circuit design for automation systems

Project Manager

As a Project Manager, demonstrate the ability to manage Axiom Automation projects from conception to final commissioning. A Project Manager must be confident and comfortable communicating with Customers, suppliers and staff in multiple departments.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Bi-weekly financial reporting of project performance

  • Monitor & control project activities to meet financial targets and schedules

  • Develop project schedules and timelines, drive project scoping, planning, execution, and commissioning

  • Communicate with customers to arrange meetings and reviews

  • Set up and lead meetings and reviews to review projects and deadlines with customers and staff

  • Coordinate with various departments for machine builds

  • Collaborate with assembly team, automation team and project management team

  • Installation and build planning of projects

  • Timely delivery of all tasks and escalation of concerns

  • Organize project documentation including quotes, correspondence, requisitions, schedules and reports.

Key Professional Attributes:

  • Post Secondary education in related field or direct working experience

  • 5+ years of practical experience

  • Experience with Office products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Ability to work with a team or independently.

  • Strong technical background

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment

Mechanical Designer

As a Mechanical Designer, you will provide systems and service designs and layouts to the production team and collaborate with the design team on projects. We are interested in both Junior and Senior experience levels.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Produce machine design models, drawings and bill of materials for equipment and assemblies

  • Produce detailed jig and machine design concepts

  • Analyze designs and layouts for compliance to applicable standards

  • Collaborate with outside design contractors

Key Professional Attributes:

  • Engineering Degree or Technicia/Technologist Diploma

  • 3+ years experience in design with automated welding and assembly equipment
